This Little Girl Was Born Without A Nose And She Can’t Stop Smiling

The toddler has suffered a traumatic start to life.


Seventeen-month-old Tessa Evans suffers from an extremely rare condition where she was born without a nose.

She has no sense of smell and no sinuses but apparently she can still catch a cold and sneeze.


Despite her condition, congential arhinia, her mother Grainne Evans said Tessa always has a smile on her face.

“'At first I just couldn't understand it, I didn't even know it was possible,” she said.

“How did my little girl not have a nose? Was she going to live? Would anyone be able to help her?


“But ever since we got her home she's grown every day, smiled more and the more she shines the more her differences fade into the background.”


Tessa’s condition was first detected during a 20-week scan. Doctors told Grainne and her partner Nathan before the birth to prepare to make difficult decisions about their child.
