Can You See The World's Biggest Spider Without Running From The Room Screaming?

This South American Goliath Birdeater can gtfo tbh.

Meet the South American Goliath Birdeater. Its legs can grow to a foot long, weighs as much as a young puppy and are considered the biggest spider species in the world.

US-based entomologist Piotr Naskrecki uploaded these incredible photos from a recent trip to a rainforest in Suriname in South America where he literally tripped over one of the creepy beasts.

His blog post recounts personal encounters with the Goliath Birdeater (which he calls "cutie pies") and writes that the spider would rear onto its hind legs, expose its fangs and rub its huge abdomen which then sent a cloud of spider hair into his eyeballs!!

And this spider is largely harmless to humans but has fangs that can break mice skulls. That's right: BREAK. MICE. SKULLS.
