The singer was hosting a concert in a nightclub when shots rang out.
The shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. PT at the Fiesta nightclub, where Brown had been performing as part of a small concert.
Police told the newspaper that four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, while one other person later presented themself at hospital with injuries. All victims were expected to survive, police said.
