It has been reported that The Sun will no longer feature topless models on Page 3 of the newspaper following a lengthy campaign calling for the feature to be scrapped.

On Monday, The Guardian claimed Britain's bestselling newspaper had called time on the section, which has run for over 40 years.


The story quoted insiders at the tabloid's publisher, News UK, and said the decision had been made to "kill off the controversial feature quietly".


“This comes from high up, from New York,” a senior executive is quoted as saying.


The news was enthusiastically welcomed by supporters of the No More Page 3 campaign, which for two years has been calling for the paper to drop the feature.
