Conservative commentator Andrew Bolt has launched an extraordinarily hypocritical rant on Senator Jacqui Lambie, saying her recent comments about Islam were too "bigoted" and "un-Australian".

Bolt — who has been taken to court for breaching the Racial Discrimination Act and campaigned for reckless free speech — launched the totally unironic rant on Sunday's Bolt Report.

The full passage includes a sincere call for Australians to be more accepting of some Muslims.

Sure Islam needs reform. Sure Islamist terrorism is a real threat. But let us not forget the best of Australia. Being open to whatever people of colour or faith. Being open to people who share a love of this country and want to be part of it, part of us. We cannot be as un-Australia, as bigoted as Palmer United Senator Jacqui Lambie.
