Tomatoes aren’t who they say they are.


It's a fruit. And a vegetable. It's also a berry. Botanically, fruits are flowering parts of plants, the means of which those plants disseminate their seeds. Vegetable is a culinary term, referring simply to an edible plant or its parts. When talking about fruits, there are many categories. Tomatoes are berry fruits. It's complicated.
