Welcome back to the majestic, albeit slightly glitchy, world of Honeywood. You would think that selling glowing, magical liquids to people who regularly get mauled by wolves would be a license to print gold. Unfortunately for Piper, our resident alchemist, her sales technique is currently about as effective as a wooden shield against a dragon’s fire breath. She is officially 0-2 on the sales leaderboard, and the frustration is palpable enough to bottle and sell as its own misery-flavored elixir.
In this particular slice of NPC life, Piper discovers the hard way that logic and retail simply do not mix in an RPG setting. Whether she is trying to convince a hero that they actually need a healing potion before they go fight a literal god, or dealing with the sheer, unadulterated nonsense that defines the average Honeywood resident, her day is going downhill fast. It turns out that being an entrepreneur in a world where people routinely eat raw flour to regain health is a recipe for a psychological breakdown.
The Viva La Dirt League crew perfectly captures that specific brand of retail rage that comes from dealing with customers who have the attention spans of goldfish and the social graces of a mountain troll. Piper’s descent into potion-selling despair is a hilarious reminder that the life of a shopkeeper is the true "hard mode" of any fantasy game. If you enjoy watching a professional lose her mind while trying to be helpful, this is the masterclass in failure you have been waiting for. Someone get this woman a vacation, or at least a customer who doesn't try to haggle over the price of literal life-saving medicine.
