11 Fashion Docs To Watch On Netflix Now

Because you can only see The September Issue so many times.

Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's (2013)

We can't all afford to shop at the exclusive department store, but a Netflix subscription will give you an all-access pass to Bergdorf Goodman ... for 93 minutes. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run the 115-year-old store, from finding emerging designers to those elaborate holiday window displays.

Breakout Character: Betty Halbreich

Celebs like Nicole Richie, Vera Wang and the late Joan Rivers give commentary throughout, but the real star of this doc is Betty, the woman who – get this – made personal shopping a thing. She's since written a memoir on the topic, which Lena Dunham has optioned for an HBO series. If you need a snapshot of what she's like, here's a quote from the movie: "No, I don't hate. I don't hate. I don't believe in hating. Dislike? Yes."

Anna Wintour: Bloomberg Game Changers (2011)

Sadly, The September Issue is no longer streaming on the 'flix. You can still get your Anna Wintour fix with this Bloomberg special about the Vogue editor-in-chief, though. Bonus – it's only 25 minutes. It's a quick, intimate portrait of the most powerful woman in fashion. And, if for some reason you're reading this and don't have a Netflix account, the special is also available on Hulu.

Best Interview: Vera Wang

"She was not 'Anna Wintour, high priestess of Vogue,'" Wang says of first meeting Wintour. "She was my friend, and we were two girls that were looking to get something going in the fashion industry." Wang helps to humanize the oft-called "ice queen" editor. Few realize Wang was an editor at Vogue before becoming a go-to wedding dress designer.
