During a trip to Rome with his girlfriend, Reddit user sesipikal put on a heart-rate monitor before the Big Moment.
After being in a "very happy relationship" for three years, the 28-year-old wore the belt out of curiosity. "My usual heart rate is about 60 to 65, so the whole day was elevated quite a bit," he says.

During the actual proposal, his heart rate skyrocketed to about 125 bpm, which is almost double his resting rate of 60 bpm.
